Metaform and XP&DLand takes Durga Puja festivity on the metaverse

MetaPujo, the historical Durga Puja celebrations, has been announced on the metaverse by Metaform and XP&DLand. This time, the legendary and famous Ahiritola Sarbojanin, Ballygunge Cultural, Deshapriya Park and Tala Prattay pandals can be accessed via 3D twins on the metaverse.

Real life and digital life are colliding, making everyone juggle between the metaverse and real worlds in the coming time. In the entire history, this is the very first time when such a huge festival is happening in the metaverse. Co-founder of Metaform & XP&DLand, Sukrit Singh, said that this year, they will pilot with four pandals, which will be increased to 100 in the coming year and in the future, each pandal will have a metaverse twin to allow everyone to enjoy and experience the celebrations.

MetaPujo will launch four rare NFTs of Maa Durga idols and that too from Kolkata’s most visited pandals, as named above. All the four NFTs will be dropped on XP&DLand absolutely free for both collectors as well as devotees who are interested in acquiring them by utilizing their Web 3.0 wallets.

The Puja’s theme is Akashvani and will display old records and songs. 

Singh added that through the initiative, Maa Durga will have an address on Web 3.0 where devotees from throughout the world will be allowed to step into the pandals’ three-dimensional recreation. They can also be a part of darshans from Kolkata’s most known pandals, as mentioned already.

The plan of Metaform and XP&DLand is based on 3D creations of the pandals, where users on the ‘Spatial’ metaverse platform can step into a shared social ecosystem and everyone from the globe can come together, engage with each other, walk around and even click photos. 

Users, within minutes, can create a meta-realistic avatar of themselves. Everyone can access the platform using tablets, smartphones and wearables.
