In Brief:

  • Goldman Sachs reported $87.45 million in Q2 XRP ETF exposure, while Jane Street disclosed a smaller $16.64 million position.
  • Together, both firms held $104.09 million, with Goldman Sachs controlling nearly 84% of their combined second-quarter ETF exposure to XRP.
  • Regulatory filings identified Goldman Sachs, Jane Street, and Millennium Management among prominent institutional holders of United States spot XRP ETFs during Q2 reporting.

Goldman Sachs and Jane Street reported combined spot XRP ETF exposure worth $104.09 million in second-quarter regulatory filings. The disclosed positions reveal how much both financial giants held in United States investment products connected to XRP during Q2.

Crypto analyst and commentator Diana shared the data on X, noting that Goldman Sachs reported $87.45 million in XRP ETF exposure, representing the larger position between both institutions. Jane Street holds $16.64 million, bringing their combined exposure above $104 million for the quarterly reporting period.

Consequently, Goldman Sachs accounted for nearly 84% of the combined amount, while Jane Street represented approximately 16%. These figures came from 13F filings, which disclose reportable securities held by qualifying institutional investment managers every quarter. However, the documents do not confirm whether either company directly owns XRP beyond its reported holdings in regulated funds.

Goldman Sachs Dominates Combined XRP ETF Exposure

Goldman Sachs held $70.81 million more XRP ETF exposure than Jane Street, creating a considerable difference between their positions. Moreover, its $87.45 million holding represented most of the $104.09 million combined total highlighted in Diana’s update.

Jane Street’s $16.64 million position still established the trading company as a notable institutional participant in spot XRP ETFs. Meanwhile, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart also shared Q2 data identifying other leading holders of United States spot XRP investment products.

His update placed Goldman Sachs, Jane Street, and Millennium Management among the prominent institutions appearing in available ownership records. Other institutions captured in the records include Intesa Sanpaolo, Irobbridge Private Wealth, Citadel Advisors, Jain Global, and others. Significantly, ETFs let financial companies access XRP price movements through familiar securities accounts without directly managing blockchain wallets.

Still, a reported ETF position does not necessarily represent a long-term forecast regarding XRP’s market performance or adoption. Financial firms may hold shares for client transactions, market-making activities, hedging arrangements, arbitrage, or broader portfolio strategies.

Additionally, quarterly filings present historical snapshots, as institutions can change their holdings before regulators publish the information. Goldman Sachs reported $87.45 million in Q2 spot XRP ETF exposure, while Jane Street held $16.64 million during the period. Their combined $104.09 million position demonstrated measurable institutional participation, with Goldman Sachs controlling most of the exposure between them.
