Whale.io Is Migrating NFT Collection From TON To Solana

Whale.io, a leading NFT and blockchain gaming platform, announced today its plans to migrate from the TON blockchain to the Solana blockchain.

Whale.io plans to migrate its Whale NFT collection, which is currently on the TON blockchain, to the Solana blockchain. According to the Whale.io team, this cross-chain transition aims to leverage Solana’s infrastructure to expand the project’s interoperability and accessibility.

Whale chose the Solana blockchain for its scalability and active NFT ecosystem. Overall, the transition is intended to expand Whale’s reach by harnessing Solana’s endless properties. Reportedly, through Solana’s low transaction cost and high-speed processing, this transition will streamline the user experience and support, increasing activity across NFT marketplaces.

The Whale NFT collection has 20,000 NFTs, making it one of the prominent NFT collections. Notably, these NFTs were minted at no cost within hours, a testament to the community’s strong early engagement. In the following year, the collection became one of the most visible projects on TON’s leading NFT marketplace, Getgems. During this period, floor prices of the Whale NFT collection increased approximately sevenfold as the pieces quickly became a cultural phenomenon.

The Whale NFT collection features eye-catching designs and varying rates, making the pieces popular and displayed across Telegram. The bridge from TON to Solana connects two blockchain ecosystems and will open up the Whale NFT collection to a broader audience.

This transition is a significant milestone for the broader NFT and blockchain gaming industry. It is a clear example of how projects can evolve to the changing ecosystems, adapting to cater to their communities’ needs.

The Whale team manages supply and maintains engagement of the NFT collection through token buybacks and burns to reduce the supply. The Whale team plans to continue with the same practices after migrating to Solana.

Whale NFTs have been available for trading with Zero gas fees on all supported platforms. This made the collection repeatedly appear on trending lists within Getgems. The team hopes the transition will help keep the collections trending across the major NFT marketplaces within Solana.

In addition to the NFTs, Whale features a mini app on Telegram called Wheel of Whales. This is a play-to-earn gaming application that offers players an opportunity to take part in Whale token distribution. In this game, NFT owners enjoy numerous perks.
