Ethereum Is Building Something Bigger Than the Crypto Market

Ethereum is building something bigger than the crypto market itself right now. The network’s real-world asset ecosystem spans 1,431 tokenized assets worth a combined $186.8 billion, according to Token Terminal’s own RWA dashboard for Ethereum.
Stablecoins remain the largest piece by far, but the growth happening outside that category is what’s actually new.

The Breakdown Behind the Headline Number
Stablecoins carry a $163.5 billion market cap, led by USDT, USDC, and USDe. Tokenized funds sit at $17.5 billion, led by sUSDS, eUSDe, and WTGXX.
Tokenized commodities total $5.0 billion, split across gold-backed tokens like XAUt and PAXG.
Tokenized stocks are the smallest slice at $770.1 million, but that category has grown 33,594% off a tiny base.
Techgaged previously reported on this same growth pattern back in August, tracking how tokenized real-world assets crossed $27 billion network-wide before this latest expansion took shape.
Why Ethereum Keeps Winning This Category
RWA.xyz’s distributed-value ranking puts Ethereum around $17.3 billion in tokenized RWA value, well ahead of BNB Chain near $5.7 billion and Solana near $4.1 billion.
Standard Chartered projects the broader tokenized RWA market, excluding stablecoins, could reach $2 trillion by 2028, and expects the “vast majority” of that activity to stay on Ethereum.
Not Every Chain Is Losing This Race
Ethereum’s lead isn’t uncontested everywhere. Solana processed roughly $5.8 billion in tokenized equity trading volume during Q2 2026 alone, capturing an estimated 95% of all on-chain stock token trading globally.
Ethereum answers where institutions choose to issue assets. Solana increasingly answers where those assets actually get traded and used as collateral afterward.
Ethereum’s Price This Week
ETH traded at $2,492.83 on September 6, 2026 (8:00 UTC), up 1.6% over seven days.
Price spiked to $2,530 on August 31, dropped to $2,400 through September 1 to 3, then rallied sharply to $2,510 by September 4 before settling near $2,492.83.

Techgaged also flagged Ethereum’s supply dynamics earlier this year, when roughly half of all ETH moved into staking contracts, infrastructure sitting directly beneath the RWA activity built on top of it.
Ethereum’s $186.8 billion RWA base is large enough now that it doesn’t need a crypto bull market to keep growing, since most of that value comes from institutions issuing regulated products rather than retail speculation. Ethereum looks set to keep winning the issuance race.
