Ripple has minted 50 million RLUSD tokens on Ethereum in a single batch. According to on-chain data from March, this marks the largest one-time mint ever recorded for any stablecoin.

RTLUSD tokens attained a total distribution of 61.3 million units across March. A sharp increase in token generation occurred on March 17, leading to the rapid growth of stablecoin supply controlled by the company.

The new stablecoin RLUSD launched in December has gained a total market capitalization of $243 million per CoinGecko data. The market views this trading volume with curiosity since RLUSD’s capitalization stands significantly lower than Tether USDC’s giant figures.

Tether maintains more than 143 billion dollars in market capitalization as the foremost stablecoin provider. USDC issued by Circle maintains $60 billion, while PayPal’s second stablecoin, PYUSD, holds $753 million.

RLUSD’s trading volume performance stands out because it surpasses other tokens in terms of market size. An analytics company named IntoTheBlock determined that RLUSD possesses the leading ratio between trading volume and market capitalization across stablecoin tokens.

Most of RLUSD’s trading volume is driven by Bullish, a cryptocurrency exchange backed by Peter Thiel. This strong support for exchange has contributed significantly to the token’s momentum.

Ripple Sets Sights on Top Five Stablecoin Ranking by End of 2025

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirmed that the company is pushing for RLUSD to enter the top five stablecoin rankings by the end of the year. This would require the token’s market cap to surpass $3 billion.

Dai, the fifth-largest stablecoin currently, holds a market cap of around $3.2 billion. Establishing a market capitalization equivalent to Dai’s would represent a substantial achievement for Ripple’s stablecoin projects.

Ripple Senior Vice President Jack McDonald confirmed that RLUSD surpassed company projections regarding its growth. Token adoption continues to grow throughout DeFi domains, and organizations utilize this token for their operations.

The non-profit Mercy Corps Ventures has embraced RLUSD through its existing developmental projects. RLUSD extends its adoption across different platforms, signaling enhanced value for the entire ecosystem.

According to IntoTheBlock, the data suggests RLUSD could emerge as a dominant player if growth continues at its current pace. Ripple’s aggressive minting strategy and early adoption trends signal serious intent to disrupt the stablecoin hierarchy.

Conclusion

Ripple’s record-breaking mint and aggressive market strategy have positioned RLUSD as one of the fastest-rising stablecoins in the industry. With plans to break into the top five by year-end, Ripple is making a clear statement to its competitors.
