Strategy, the largest corporate bitcoin (BTC) holder and leading business intelligence firm, has announced another BTC purchase. However, the latest acquisition is its lowest in more than two months.

According to a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Strategy acquired 705 BTC for $75.1 million at roughly $106,495 per coin between May 26 and June 1.

Following the latest purchase, the business intelligence entity now holds 580,955 BTC, bought for approximately $40.68 billion at $70,023 per BTC. With bitcoin’s price at $104,000 at the time of writing, Strategy is sitting on a 48% profit – over $19.9 billion.

Strategy Increases BTC Stash

As has been the case recently, the funds for this BTC purchase were proceeds from the sale of Strategy’s STRK and STRF shares. The firm noted that it did not sell any MSTR shares and still has about $18.63 billion of the stock available for issuance and sale.

Strategy sold $36.2 million worth of STRK shares and $38.4 million of STRF stock. On March 10, the company established an 8.00% Series A perpetual strike preferred stock at-the-market (ATM) offering to sell STRK shares, raising $21 billion for corporate expenses and additional BTC acquisitions. The STRF ATM offering, which aims to raise $2.1 billion for similar purposes, was established on May 22.

As of Strategy’s last purchase, the firm’s founder and executive chairman, Michael Saylor, revealed that it had achieved a BTC yield of 16.8% year-to-date (YTD). Following the latest acquisition, the yield has risen to 16.9%.

Lowest Purchase in Months

So far this year, Strategy has announced BTC purchases for 17 weeks. This week’s acquisition is the company’s second-lowest for the year. The last time Strategy purchased such a low number of BTC was in March 2025, when the acquisition cost $10.7 million for 130 coins.

On other occasions, the company has purchased at least 1,070 BTC, and even as much as 22,048 BTC, which cost over $1.9 billion in late March.

Even the latest BTC purchase from the Japanese investment firm Metaplanet surpassed Strategy’s recent acquisition. Metaplanet bought 1,088 BTC for $117.3 million at an average of $107,771 per coin.

Meanwhile, following its last rally, BTC has been consolidating between $108,000 and $103,000. It was changing hands at around $103,970 at the time of writing.
