The team behind the Mist Metaverse made an announcement surrounding its second phase of the pre-alpha.
Mist Pre-Alpha Phase 2 and What Players Can Expect
The team announced token rewards, a desktop wallet and messaging application, new quests, mounts, a new character controller, Web 3 drops, limited spells, and an updated environment.
Only players that have invested in the game in some way, either through buying the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) or the game’s native cryptocurrency, MIST, will be able to gain access.
MIST, as a cryptocurrency, is used for most in-game actions and is the utility token. The cryptocurrency is also used for governance.
To access the Mist pre-alpha phase 2, players must own a Tier 3 or over NFT, or over 100,000 MIST tokens.
Initially, it would only be available for Windows, but when asked if there is a Mac version available, the team responded that they could bring Mist to Mac within the span of a few days.
Mist, as an MMORPG game, was created on top of the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and in the Unity game engine.
Players will need to get testnet BNB tokens before the pre-alpha phase 2 begins through the official Binance Chain faucet, as through these tokens players can send transactions in-game.
This pre-alpha stage promises numerous developments and upgrades to the game, alongside the introduction of a wallet. However, there is a high price barrier.
While this price barrier will reward early investors and fans, it will keep the player-base limited.
When officially launched, Mist will be free-to-play (F2P), where players without an NFT character can play as an adventurer class with spells, assuming the players do not buy any weapons, but the new content will be closed off while it is in pre-alpha.
