Changpeng Zhao, the co-founder and former CEO of Binance, has publicly identified what he considers blockchain’s most powerful function.
According to a now-deleted post on his official X handle, CZ described fundraising as the ultimate “killer app” of blockchain, referencing a recent crypto funding achievement as proof of its real-world strength.
His comment came in response to a tweet from X user @buidlpad, which detailed the recent fundraising success of SaharaAI. Within the AI-oriented program, it managed to raise more than 16 million in BNB as well as 59 million USD1, a stablecoin that was allegedly related to World Liberty Financial and linked to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The said tweet notes that the campaign has raised 777 percent more than the initial goal.
CZ outlined that this outcome proved the true value of blockchain as a fundraising tool in the modern world. He described how companies are employing crypto-native technologies, such as stablecoins and tokens, to circumvent long-standing barriers to financial systems.
The tweet was later taken down, but not before it had sparked discussion among crypto communities about blockchain’s evolving role in financial infrastructure.

Educational Shift and Continued Blockchain Advocacy
Zhao’s remarks come as the crypto industry is still adjusting to his departure from Binance’s leadership. After stepping down, he launched an education-focused initiative called Giggle Academy.
The platform provides free online lessons in English, math, and blockchain for underprivileged children across developing countries.
While serving a four-month sentence tied to charges brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission in 2024, Zhao began writing a book. The draft will outline his personal experience, the emergence of Binance, and the milestones in the history of blockchain.
Although Zhao has suffered legal setbacks, he has continued to engage in blockchain-related education, advocacy, and tokens.
By highlighting fundraising as the best use case of the blockchain, CZ is also again focusing on less theoretical uses of the blockchain. His message supports the fact that decentralized modes of funding are becoming increasingly prominent in the contemporary financial scene.
CZ’s latest statement reiterates the focus on how blockchain is revolutionizing fundraising. As SaharaAI’s results show, this method is becoming one of the most effective financial tools available today.
