Strategy Boosts Bitcoin Stash with Latest $531.9M Purchase

Strategy, the business intelligence giant, announced Monday that it had increased its bitcoin (BTC) stash with a new purchase. According to a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Strategy acquired 4,980 BTC between June 23 and 29, 2025. The purchase, valued at approximately $531.9 million, strengthens the firm’s position as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.

Strategy Holds 597,325 BTC
The latest purchase has brought the company’s Bitcoin holdings to a total of 597,325 BTC. The coins were acquired at an aggregate price of $42.40 billion at an average price of $70,982 per bitcoin.
According to the filing, the purchase was funded with proceeds from the Class A common stock shares MSTR, its perpetual strike preferred offering, STRK, and Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock, STRF.
Specifically, the company raised $519.5 million through MSTR shares, $28.9 million via STRK shares, and $29.7 million through STRF shares. The net proceeds from the sales were $578.1 million, and the firm channeled the funds into its recent BTC purchase. The STRF offering began on May 22 through an at-the-market (ATM) setup. It aims to raise $2.1 billion to support operational needs and fund additional Bitcoin acquisitions.
So far this year, Strategy has achieved a 19.7% yield on its bitcoin holdings, reinforcing its strategy of positioning BTC as its primary treasury asset.
Following the footsteps of Strategy, The Blockchain Group, a France-based tech firm, expanded its Bitcoin stash to 1,788 BTC. Today, the company purchased 60 BTC for approximately $6.45 million. Following this purchase, the Blockchain Group has achieved a BTC yield of 1,270.7% year-to-date (YTD).
Strategy Moves 7,383 BTC ($796 million)
In a related development, Strategy recently transferred 7,383 BTC, worth approximately $796 million, to three newly created wallets. According to data from Lookchain, this move is likely aimed at bolstering its custody protocols.
Historically, Strategy only sold part of its BTC holding on December 22, 2022, for tax purposes. Then, the company sold 704 BTC for about $11.8 million at an average price of $16,776. Days later, the firm bought back 810 BTC for $13.64 million. Since then, Strategy has remained committed to its long-term accumulation strategy and has not made any further sales of Bitcoin to date.
