CZ Binance Raises $2M+ For Giggle Academy Through Memecoin Donations

Binance co-founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, revealed that Giggle Academy raised over $2 million in just 12 hours. The platform is a free online education initiative aimed at providing high-quality learning for children.

After that early milestone, contributions continued to pour in. The donation address now holds more than 2,200 BNB, worth over $2.2 million, according to BscScan. So far, the academy has processed 967 transactions out of nearly 11,000, showing strong ongoing support from the community.

Giggle Memecoin Boosts Donations

The academy shared plans for the use of donations, including community building, creator incentives, ecosystem development, product promotion, and impact expansion. All contributions are on-chain, fully transparent, and accompanied by regular public reports.

Notably, a significant portion of these donations came from a memecoin called “Giggle,” which sends its trading fees as BNB to the academy. The token generated roughly $900,000 in fees within just 12 hours. CZ expressed surprise at the results and highlighted the potential of meme tokens beyond speculative trading.

Since then, the token has continued to perform strongly. DEX Screener data showed that Giggle’s market cap surged to $28 million at the time of writing. This reinforces CZ’s view that meme tokens can contribute meaningfully beyond mere speculation.

Sustaining Free Education Through Crypto Donations

Looking ahead, CZ expressed confidence that Giggle Academy could sustain itself through donations from alumni and the public. He emphasized that collective support is crucial to making high-quality education free for future generations.

Specifically, CZ explained that donations are vital for running a free platform without revenue. He stated that the funds would support contributors and expand coverage while ensuring education remains completely free.

To maintain transparency and maximize impact, he clarified that Giggle Academy did not create a token and has no plans to issue one. CZ also committed to personally covering employee and server costs, ensuring that donations directly fuel growth.
