Network fees so high

Hey guys, I’m new to all this but was trying to swap my eth on uniswap and it was going to cost me over double the amount I wanted to swap in fees. I know eth fees have always been high but I did not realise they were this bad. Is there a better way to do this? Or do I just have to deal with losing over half my money in fees. Thanks
