The 71-year-old senator ā who has admitted owning the leading cryptocurrency since 2013 ā sponsored the Bitcoin Act for a Bitcoin strategic reserve, and was co-sponsor of the 2025ās GENIUS Act to regulate stablecoins.
This year, Lummis also introduced legislation for a tax exemption on small Bitcoin transactions.

President Trump campaigned to help the digital asset space and has signed pro-crypto legislation since entering the White House in January.
