Bitcoin Whales Reach Highest Holdings Since August — The Setup Changes

Bitcoin whales reach their highest holdings since August. Santiment data shows wallets holding 10 to 10,000 BTC added 41,025 BTC in just 10 days.
Their balance now stands at 13.64 million BTC. That is 67.93% of the entire supply.

Who Is Buying Bitcoin Again?
This tier covers the whales and sharks. Santiment says they are back to levels last seen during the mid-August rally.
History gives the group weight. Bitcoin and the wider market have tended to do better when these wallets accumulate.
They have faced more pressure when the group sells. The buying fits a wider pattern, as Bitcoin ETF inflows have now hit seven straight days.
Retail Sits Still on the Sidelines
The smallest wallets, with less than 0.01 BTC, are mostly flat. They have barely moved since the $87K peak. Santiment says a stronger setup would show retail selling while whales keep buying.
Small traders have often panicked out near better buying zones. Supply is tightening on exchanges too, as Binance’s Bitcoin reserves plunge.
Santiment adds a warning. The divergence is encouraging, but it is not a guaranteed price signal.
Bitcoin Holds Above $83,000 on the Weekly Chart
At 11:45 UTC on 30 September 2026, Bitcoin traded at $83,887.14, up 0.29% on the weekly BTCUSD chart. Price sits above the $80,000 level after a sharp climb from the low $60,000s in July.

The Parabolic SAR dots have flipped below price, which points to an uptrend. The MACD line stands at 1,520.47, well above the signal line at -1,233.44. The histogram reads 2,753.91 and keeps growing.
Santiment’s chart, captured at 09:04 UTC on the same day, shows the whale line rising while the retail line stays flat. The backdrop also helps, since crypto keeps outperforming stocks and commodities.
One Signal Worth Watching Next
Whales are buying. Retail has not reacted yet. That mix has appeared before stronger Bitcoin moves. Will small holders finally lose patience while large wallets keep stacking?
