Strive Asset Management has raised its bitcoin holdings by adding 1,110 BTC for approximately $81.5 million this week.
As of press time, bitcoin’s price traded at $78,500. This represents a modest 1.4% gain in 24 hours according to CoinGecko market data.
Strive Expands Bitcoin Treasury
Strive announced that it purchased its BTC stash between August 17 and August 21, paying approximately $73,409 per coin, including fees and expenses. The acquisition increased its total bitcoin holdings from 20,246 BTC to 21,356 BTC, according to its latest company regulatory filing.
The company reported $171.9 million in cash and cash equivalents, giving the management additional liquidity alongside its expanded crypto treasury and operations. Note that Strive holds approximately $46 million of Strategy’s STRC, purchased in March 2026 as part of its capital allocation strategy.
Strive and Strategy, the leading BTC treasury firm, have formed a partnership that goes beyond Strive owning Strategy’s preferred securities. Strive has identified itself as a corporate bitcoin treasury company, following a model similar to Strategy’s. Strategy, on its part, has built a strong reputation by aggressively acquiring the apex crypto, making this approach popular among institutions.
By buying Strategy’s STRC and increasing its own Bitcoin holdings, Strive gains access to both bitcoin and a security from one of the leading companies focused on Bitcoin.
Strategy Pauses BTC Purchases, Builds Cash Instead
Strive is actively establishing its presence in the Bitcoin markets, while Saylor’s Strategy has taken a different approach, focusing on liquidity rather than accumulation. Between August 17 and August 23, the company sold 18,261,118 shares of MSTR through its at-the-market offering program, raising approximately $2.01 billion.
Out of these proceeds, $136.4 million was used to fund Strategy’s STRC repurchases, and another $300 million was added to its designated USD Reserve last week. The remaining $1.59 billion was allocated to a new USD Cash pool, providing management with greater flexibility for future financial needs.
As of August 23, Strategy had $5.1 billion in USD Reserve and $1.59 billion in USD Cash, totaling $6.69 billion.
Notably, the company has not purchased BTC since June 21, resulting in a pause of 9 consecutive weeks. Despite the pause, Strategy has remained the largest corporate holder of bitcoin, with an 840,447 BTC stash.
