Pirate Chain has been busy on media, events, and technology, from meme contests and conferences to mining, full nodes, and new hardware. Read, share, and take part. Here’s what happened in October.
Monthly update meeting

Media appearances
Dajohns was on Crypto Rich’s show talking Pirate Chain and privacy coins. This puts Pirate Chain in front of audiences that actually care about censorship resistance and financial privacy, not just price talk. Crypto Rich covers important projects in crypto, and he's a true believer in Pirate Chain. Dajohns also did an AMA with the Shark Cruisers community.
Anarchapulco 2026
Pirate Chain will be at Anarchapulco again, 16–20 February in Puerto Vallarta (not Acapulco this year!). Mexico is an affordable place to travel and a great spot to meet Pirates face to face. Get tickets on the Anarchapulco website, and use code PIRATE for 10% off. This past year we gave an intro to Pirate Chain on the Anarchapulco main stage. Next year we’re aiming bigger, focusing on privacy and how to break out of fiat.
October meme contest!
We have extended the deadline for the meme contest to 7th November! If you haven't already, go check it out. We’re taking both funny memes and clear infographics. If you don't have a funny meme, you can enter the contest with useful infographics like 'Pirate Chain vs Bitcoin' that help explain the difference in plain language. If you need any technical facts checked before you post, DM us in Discord so we can verify. Winners will be announced and prizes paid in ARRR. It closes soon so make sure to get your entries in! The Pirate Chain team will meet as a jury and winners will be announced in the November monthly update (10 Nov 2025).
Orchard update
Forge, one of our core developers, released a new video update on Orchard. It covers how Orchard works at a high level and also goes into the technical side. This is a good resource to understand where development is heading.
ARRR Hardware Wallet
One of our active community members, Warelock, is building a dedicated Pirate Chain hardware wallet. He showed a working prototype on the last community call, doing this under the ZTH Alliance banner and is accepting donations to keep pushing the project. If you like seeing Pirate Chain on its own hardware, consider supporting him. Pirate Chain is a community project after all. Warelock has also written an article coining the term Ciphercurrency.
Privacy Coins vs Pirate Chain in the news
There’s a lot of debate online comparing privacy coins against each other. Our view is simple: privacy coins shouldn’t be enemies. We need more alignment across the privacy space, not less.
We’re still getting a lot of questions about how to mine Pirate Chain. Mining is what defends the network. Pirate Chain uses delayed Proof-of-Work, anchored to larger chains, and you can mine with ASICs and earn ARRR for doing it. If you want to get involved, start here on our official Pirate Chain mining page.
If you’ve got an old laptop or a spare mini PC, run a full node using the Treasure Chest wallet and leave it on. Storing the chain yourself and validating blocks locally strengthens the network and keeps Pirate Chain harder to censor.

We host recurring X Spaces and open Discord community calls. As usual, the main monthly update meeting is always on the second Monday of the month, and the weekly community voice call is every Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern. Holidays are coming up: a good time to onboard friends, point them to a private-by-default wallet, and spread a little Pirate Chain love.
