“A Little More Orange”: Did Saylor Just Signal Another Bitcoin Buy?

Michael Saylor may have just sent Bitcoin watchers another familiar signal.

On Sunday, the Strategy Inc. (MSTR) Executive Chairman posted the company’s Bitcoin acquisition chart with a short message on X: “A little more orange.”

For anyone familiar with Saylor’s posts, the wording immediately stands out. The orange dots on Strategy’s chart have become closely associated with the company’s Bitcoin accumulation. But there is an important distinction: Saylor’s latest post is a signal, not confirmation of a new purchase.

So, is Strategy about to add more Bitcoin?

The orange circles on Strategy’s acquisition chart represent the company’s Bitcoin purchases. Over time, the chart has become a recognizable way for Saylor to highlight Strategy’s ongoing Bitcoin accumulation.

That makes his latest post more than a random chart update.

Michael Saylor has used similar messages around previous purchase disclosures, including the “We’re Back” message that appeared just a day before Strategy’s latest confirmed acquisition in August, when the company bought $369.7 million worth of Bitcoin.

Now, after another quiet stretch, the familiar acquisition chart has appeared again — accompanied by Saylor’s “A little more orange” comment.

Strategy’s most recent confirmed purchase added 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7 million, at an average price of about $80,318 per Bitcoin.

The purchase brought the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 BTC, acquired for an aggregate cost of approximately $63.73 billion, with an average purchase price of about $75,412 per BTC.

Now the familiar orange chart has appeared again. The question is whether history is about to repeat itself.

Strategy’s Bitcoin balance remained unchanged for two consecutive reporting periods.

Its September 14 filing with the SEC showed that the company neither bought nor sold Bitcoin between September 8 and September 13, leaving its holdings at 845,050 BTC.

During that period, Strategy continued managing its broader capital position, including spending approximately $139.3 million to repurchase STRC preferred shares.

That makes Saylor’s latest message particularly notable: the orange signal comes after a period in which the company’s Bitcoin holdings had stopped growing.

As of September 21, Strategy holds 845,050 BTC at an average cost of $75,412 per Bitcoin.

The last purchase added 4,603 BTC and $369.7 million worth of Bitcoin to its holdings.

If the latest post is another pre-purchase signal, Strategy’s next disclosure could reveal another addition to its Bitcoin treasury. But the size, price and timing of any potential purchase remain unknown until the company reports an actual transaction.

For now, “A little more orange” is exactly what it appears to be: a signal, not a confirmation.

The next regulatory filing will provide the answer.
