The “Pay to Reach” system, prototyped and launched swiftly after CZ discussed the idea on Binance Square, was immediately inundated with spam messages—ranging from simple greetings like “yo” to memecoin links and vague, unanswerable questions like “how do I run a successful start-up?
Messaging CZ Now Costs ~$120 As Fees to Combat Spam
To manage the deluge, CZ initially set the fee at a modest 0.04 BNB (approx. $24 at current prices) but rapidly increased it after receiving over 100 messages overnight. The fee was first raised to 0.1 BNB and has now been set at 0.2 BNB (approx. $120) in an effort to filter out low-quality interactions.
