AAA gaming companies will look like peanuts as GameFi evolves?

According to Jack O'Holleran, CEO of Skale, a multichain Ethereum native network that powers Web3 games, GameFi's constantly evolving model could make today's AAA game companies look like peanuts.

Indeed, blockchain-based games and metaverse projects have shown resilience in the face of a winter that has dragged down many players in the crypto industry, raising $1.3 billion in the last quarter, according to DappRadar.

We are witnessing the birth of many different economies, each with its own distribution mechanism, as well as the evolution of various token models (single token, 2 token, NFT driven, etc.). Only time will tell how suitable and reliable each of these will be in open global markets over the long term.

There are now different types of these games, you may even play the NFT lottery which I've found out about recently, such a type of gaming will be available soon on platforms such as BillionAir, which is supported by a robust token-based economy, the AIRB utility token, and NFT-based tickets. These can be used to participate in raffles, bet, wager on, and win the best skill and chance games.

While cryptocurrency gaming companies are gaining a foothold in the industry, AAA games, which are high-budget, high-profile games produced and distributed by large publishers, are attempting to improve usability.

We see GameFi at a critical juncture. On the one hand, GameFi has the extremely rare ability to attract the next billion users to the crypto space (given how many gamers there are worldwide). Gamification, on the other hand, does not cater to traditional gamers and focuses heavily on the blockchain and the play-to-earn aspect of gaming.
