Matic use case wet dream

With Etherum 2.0 arriving in 2022, gas fees from pos will be close to mere cents. Would it be feesible in any cents (thank you thank you) to designate matic for paying gas fees? Can somebody much smarter than me please hypothesize on the possibility of this? Swinging for the fences on this scenario.
