Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA), a company focused on blockchain-powered gaming, has announced a partnership with Belgian football club KMSK Deinze. DEA describes the collaboration as a strategic partnership that will help the club attract new sponsorships.
The Singapore-based DEA is building an ecosystem around its DEAPcoin (DEP) cryptocurrency, and has also launched products like the PlayMining platform and an NFT marketplace.
DEA will be sponsoring KMSK Deinze for the club’s upcoming season in the 1B Pro League. According to a press release, the strategic partnership will also involve DEA’s PlayMining platform, where players can participate in Play-to-Earn (P2E) opportunities. KMSK Deinze will also have a gaming guild that will participate in the P2E games from DEA. Gaming guilds are a rapidly emerging type of organization, which makes investments in P2E gaming and organizes players to boost the revenue earned from P2E games. Gaming guilds are growing in popularity especially in Southeast Asia, where P2E gaming is representing an employment opportunity for many players.
DEA’s partnership with KMSK Deinze will not just focus on P2E opportunities, but will also touch on initiatives connected to other aspects of Web3. According to DEA, future plans include the launch of fan tokens and Watch-to-Earn, which will help boost fan engagement.
Digital Entertainment Asset CEO Naohito Yoshida commented on the new strategic partnership, and commended the club for taking a bold step towards Web3:
“I respect KMSK Deinze, a soccer club with a long history, for their bold challenge in the Web3 space. I am convinced that building an economic zone using Play to Earn will be a sustainable and effective approach to promoting sports culture. We look forward to working with Deinze to set a great precedent.”
Meanwhile, KMSK Deinze chairman of the board Hiroyuki Ono said that cutting-edge trends like GameFi can help release the full potential of football and help revitalize cities like Deinze.
