Finding new projects?

DYOR ("Do your own research") is a popular term in the crypto world. But you do need a place to start.

Maybe reading crypto news sites, reddit, telegram and discord, GitHub (developer sites),

Obviously the signal to noise ratio is very high and it can be difficult to determine the difference between a great opportunity and a scam.

I spend some time on CT "crypto twitter" and it’s interesting to see the amount of accounts pushing the same 'gems'. I have to assume these are primarily paid shills. Although I’m not sure why or who is paying them, perhaps they are trying to build clout by saying I gave you 'xyz' before anyone else did.

Some of these are up 1000% for the year so it’s clear you’re too late and it’s not a great time to chase them.

Do you spend time finding new projects before they start getting shilled or have methods to find great projects in their early stages?

I’ve noticed being active in DeFi or a specific ecosystem can bring new projects gaining traction to your attention.
