World Mobile Token, arguably the biggest Cardano project flex, is using Cosmos SDK to build its chain

World Mobile is building a mobile network built on the blockchain. Think Starlink, but replace satellites with house antennas and blimps with telecom nodes. Anyone can run these nodes and earn World Mobile tokens. The tokens are issued on Cardano, and like everything Cardano related, World Mobile are testing their mobile network infrastructure in some African country.

Well they just announced their blockchain is going to be built on Cosmos SDK, but will be a Cardano side chain somehow ! I understand the limitations of Cardano and the difficulty of developing on it, so I understand their decision to build using Cosmos SDK, but why add the extra headache of being a Cardano side chain?? Is it just because they already issued their tokens on Cardano? As I understand, side chains don't even inherit the main chain's security.

What do you think is happening here? Did World Mobile just "politely" switch from Cardano to Cosmos??
