Since “Doge” is a word that was practically made up for the purposes of an internet meme, it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of confusion about how to pronounce Dogecoin.

This pronunciation was confirmed by Dogecoin’s co-creator Jackson Palmer, who said the name was inspired by the animated series Homestar Runner. In one of the episodes, a character spells out D-O-G-E and another character reads it as “dohj” (dəʊʒ).
