  • Astar’s token ASTR is now functional on Polkadot and Ethereum via ERC-7802 and Chainlink CCIP.
  • Chainlink is a highly active developer ecosystem and has strong GitHub contributions.
  • LINK price is displaying bullish signs with RSI and MACD oscillators, indicating the increasing strength of the market.

Astar Network has made a significant step in the interoperability of blockchain. Its native token, ASTR, is now the first to fully integrate under the ERC-7802 token standard and the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This two-fold integration makes ASTR a fully interoperable asset in Polkadot and Ethereum ecosystems.

The update allows cross-superchain transfers of tokens on Optimism-based chains and the Soneium blockchain of Polkadot. Astar Foundation estimates that, with entire Superchain interoperability activated, cross-chain will be accomplished with only two clicks. Following the integration of ERC-7802 and CCIP, Astar will become a utility staple in DeFi, games, and creativity apps.

Polkadot-Ethereum Connectivity Strengthens

The update allows cross-superchain transfers of tokens on Optimism-based chains and the Soneium blockchain of Polkadot. Once an ASTR transfer is requested, Chainlink oracles will validate the transaction on the source chain and submit the verified data to the destination network. This process will cause the minting or burning of the token when necessary based on the direction of the transfer. These actions can only be permitted to Chainlink-verified contracts, and this is possible because of the role-based access controls within the smart contract.

The integration is also adding CrosschainMint and CrosschainBurn functions. These enable approved bridges to dynamically control supply throughout networks whilst keeping the asset trust minimized and safe. Maarten Henskens of Astar Foundation said that the innovation has given builders and users tools to scale multi-chain operations.

Developer Activity Pushes Chainlink to the Top

Santiment data proves that Chainlink is the second-most active crypto project on GitHub in the last month. The developer activity was also very high, with a steady rate of developer activity who are devoted to establishing the essential infrastructure of cross-chain interoperability. In comparison, Ethereum was placed eighth.

This active GitHub contribution is an indicator of the technical development that the two networks are experiencing. The developer activity also did not subside even amidst market fluctuations, validating the predictability and resilience of these ecosystems. The CCIP powered by Chainlink is constantly broadening its applications, and Astar will now play a significant role in this initiative.

Chainlink native token LINK is changing hands at $15.30 on the price side, showing a minor decrease of 0.97% today. Technical indicators, however, are pointing to positive momentum building. The daily RSI has broken 55.47, which is above the neutral 50 level, indicating bullish pressure is building up.

MACD is also starting to turn bullish, with a positive histogram and a crossover developing above the signal line. All of this is indicative of a possible short-term rally, particularly as long as the buying volume increases with the development activity on the network.
