Crypto ETF News: BTC, ETH, SOL Bleed as XRP ETF Survives the Crash

The crypto market woke up bleeding on September 10, and the crypto ETF news of the day tells you exactly why. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana funds all saw investors pull money out, while one small survivor quietly held its ground. Here's what actually happened, coin by coin, and why it matters if you're watching this space.

The global crypto market cap sits at $2.71 trillion today, down 1.7% in 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Daily trading volume hit $87.6 billion. Bitcoin still holds 56.8% of the market, with Ethereum at 11%.

Key Takeaways

  • Bitcoin ETFs saw their worst single-day outflow since July, losing $282.56 million on September 10.

  • XRP ETFs were the only bright spot, pulling in $5.14 million while every other major crypto ETF bled money.

  • Hot U.S. inflation data (PPI) sparked the sell-off, and CPI numbers due September 11 could push prices lower still.

Why Is the Crypto Market Down Today? PPI Data Hits Hard

Blame Wall Street's inbox. The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its Producer Price Index (PPI) report, and it wasn't friendly to risk assets. Final demand prices rose 0.4% in August. Goods prices jumped 1.1%. Services rose a smaller 0.1%. Over the past 12 months, final demand prices are up 5.4%.

Higher inflation numbers usually mean interest rates stay higher for longer. That's bad news for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and every other coin that thrives when money is cheap. Investors read the report and started selling, and crypto ETFs felt it first.

Bitcoin ETF News: Biggest Outflow Since July

Spot Bitcoin ETFs bled $282.56 million in daily net outflows on September 10, per SoSoValue data. That's the largest single-day drop since July's $424.66 million outflow, and the worst day of September so far.

Ark & 21Shares led the exodus, losing $164.32 million. Grayscale's GBTC followed with $36.38 million pulled out.

Even with the rough day, Bitcoin ETFs still hold $97.49 billion in total net assets, which is 6.28% of Bitcoin's entire market cap. Cumulative net inflow since launch stands at $55.17 billion, and $1.70 billion in Bitcoin ETF shares traded hands today.

Bitcoin price today itself dropped 1.6% to trade at $77,070.08, with a market cap of $1.548 trillion.

Ethereum ETF News: Second Worst Day of September

Ethereum ETFs didn't escape either. They lost $29.76 million on September 10, the second-largest outflow this month. The only worse day was September 2, when outflows hit $48.08 million.

Fidelity accounted for the biggest chunk today, pulling $25.15 million from its Ethereum fund.

Total net assets for Ethereum ETFs stand at $15.60 billion, or 5.19% of Ethereum's market cap. Cumulative inflows since launch remain strong at $13.17 billion, with $773.37 million traded today.

Ethereum's price slipped 0.7% to $2,460.11, holding a $300.135 billion market cap.

XRP ETF News: The Only Survivor

Here's the twist. While Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana funds all bled, XRP ETFs pulled in fresh money. Franklin Templeton recorded the day's only inflow, adding $5.14 million.

XRP's price still fell 3.1% to $1.35, with a market cap of $84.687 billion. The ETF held firm even as the token itself dropped, showing a gap between fund flows and spot price.

Solana ETF News: Fourth Outflow of September

Solana ETFs lost $482.55K on September 10, marking their fourth outflow this month. Bitwise led the selling at $1.37 million out, while Fidelity actually added $888.41 thousand, a small bright spot inside a red day.

What Next in Crypto ETF News?

All eyes now turn to September 11, when fresh CPI inflation data lands. The PPI report already dragged the market down once this week. A hot CPI print could deepen the outflows across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana ETFs, while traders watch whether XRP can keep defying the trend.

Expert Opinion: The pattern across today's crypto ETF news points to a market reacting to macro data, not coin-specific news. Bitcoin and Ethereum funds, the largest by assets, absorbed the heaviest selling, which lines up with how institutional money typically de-risks first from the biggest, most liquid products. XRP's lone inflow, though small in dollar terms, suggests some investors see current price levels as a buying opportunity rather than a reason to exit. Solana's fourth straight monthly outflow points to a longer cooling trend rather than a one-day reaction. With CPI data due next, fund flows are likely to stay volatile through the week.
