SHIB Lead Urges Silence as Burns Explode 185% in Just 24 Hours

Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, has issued a strong warning to the community, urging members not to engage in heated arguments with critics online. To her, confrontations with antagonists commonly known as fudders are futile and only divert attention from the project’s development.

She said she and project lead Shytoshi Kusama have adopted a relaxed attitude toward negativity. To underscore this, Lucie cited a very common quote by actor Keanu Reeves, who once told him that he just wants to be out of the argument at all times, even when people are making unreasonable arguments.

She noted that the message applies directly to the Shiba Inu community, encouraging members to ignore provocations and concentrate on the ecosystem’s growth.

SHIB Burns Soar Amid Community Advisory

The reminder to stay composed coincided with a sharp surge in SHIB burns. Data from on-chain tracker Shibburn showed that the token’s burn rate exploded by 185 percent in just 24 hours. This abrupt boost eliminated 2,939,899 SHIB tokens through five different transactions.

Two transfers of any size were outstanding on the day, and 1,694,200 and 1,076,047 SHIB were permanently transferred to unspendable wallets. The extent of this burn was quite a theatrical shift from the previous day, when only some 100,000 SHIB burned.

The daily spike notwithstanding, weekly data were not as promising. Over the last seven days, the community burned out 11,730,739 SHIB in one community, a massive decrease of over 81 percent compared to last week. The numbers were a measure of the instability of token burns that spike on some days and trail on a larger scale.
