GamerHash Community Update — August 2026

August is when this industry goes quiet. Out of office replies, roadmaps that slip to September. We shipped a video model that generates its own sound and put a new kind of work on your graphics card. The market spent the month arriving at the conclusion we built this network on.

Your GPU Learned Sound Design
MiniMax H3 went live in GamerHash AI on August 29.
Text to video and image to video, with audio generated in the same pass as the picture. One model builds both, so a character’s mouth matches what comes out of it. Until now a talking clip took two models and a sync step, and the sync step was always the weak one.
Hand it a still photograph and it works out how the scene should move, down to the steam bending off a mug that was sitting perfectly still a second earlier.
The timeline is worth a look too, because every model reaches you the same way. We posted the first H3 test clips on August 5, ran the model across our GPUs through deAPI, opened it to developers on August 17, and had it running in the app twenty-four days after that first teaser. It runs on your own card, and trying it costs nothing.
Transcription, From Both Sides
Version 0.82.0 added Whisper Large V3 CT2 to the Earn Module.
Until August the jobs landing on your card were pictures and video. Now there is audio too — speech to text, with speakers labelled and every word timed. A wider mix of work means more hours where there is something in the queue for your machine.
The same job runs the other way around. Voice & Audio transcription has been in the app for a while and works on your own recordings: the two-hour interview, the lecture you want searchable. The file never leaves your drive, and there is no per-minute bill waiting at the end of it.
GamerHash AI Mobile
The mobile app has a new name, and you can now see your AI workers from your phone. Which machines are online, and what they are doing. People have asked for that since the Earn Module launched, because checking used to mean walking back to the desk or remoting in from wherever you were.
Links to gamerhash.com now open straight in the app on iOS and Android instead of dropping you into a browser tab.

The Market Spent August Counting What We Counted
Four numbers from August, and not one of them is ours.
SK Hynix put memory demand at roughly double this year, with prices already up 40–50%. GPU prices went up for the third time in 2026. A chart from the Kobeissi Letter pegged AI electricity demand at 315 GW by 2033. And Nvidia, reported in August to be buying Hugging Face, confirmed the deal on September 3 at $12.93 billion, which is the largest hardware company on earth paying for the place where open models get downloaded.
Together they describe one situation. Compute is scarce, and the standard answer is to build more of it. A new fab takes years to come online and a grid connection can take longer than that.
Then there is the silicon that never appears on those charts. Consumer graphics cards their owners already paid for, plugged in, cooled, and idle most of the day. That is the pool GamerHash AI runs on. We rebuilt the network around it in 2024, back when running an open model at home was a weekend project rather than a product decision.
Demand is not theoretical either. Boppy is one free music app, and it alone sends thousands of inference jobs a day onto cards owned by people reading this. Every one of them pays out.
Under the Hood
August also went on the half nobody posts about. Web, desktop and mobile each shipped a release this month: a cleaner way to download the app, a repainted login screen, alerts that no longer throw a window on top of your game, and a rebuilt installer. Quiet months are when this kind of work actually gets done.
One reminder while you are in there. GHXP sitting unlocked on your account does nothing. It places you nowhere in the season ranking and pays you nothing. You can lock up to 80% of your balance, and whatever you hold back rolls over.
A Word from Our CEO
August proved what we’ve believed from the start: the scramble for compute is real, and the traditional grid can’t keep up. While the industry panics over rising GPU prices and supply bottlenecks, our network is already running live production workloads — from real-time audio transcription to next-gen video synthesis. Your desktop isn’t just an idle gaming rig anymore; it’s an active node in the world’s most accessible compute engine.
