April brought one of the most important milestones for Pirate Chain so far this year, and things are moving fast. From major wallet progress to public testing and continued ecosystem growth, it’s clear we’re entering a critical phase for Pirate Chain adoption. Let’s dive in.

Unified Wallet Enters Public Testing
Development of the unified light wallet continues to move quickly. The biggest announcement this month is that the Unified Light Wallet is now officially open for public testing . This marks a huge step forward for Pirate Chain’s usability and onboarding. There is a new unified-light-wallet-testing channel to add wallet testing comments in the Pirate Chain Discord.
Oswald and the team have now completed the third milestone, and the wallet is ready for the community to start testing across desktop (with mobile testing following soon).
Key progress this month:
- Secure auto-updater with checksum verification to prevent malicious downloads
- Fixes to onboarding flow, especially for restored wallets using Tor
- Integration of subtree roots (future sync speed boost)
- Full documentation + audit review (with fixes and comments)
- Improvements to SOCKS5 proxy support
- Enhanced background sync (Android + experimental iOS compliance)
- Refactored codebase for better maintainability (no more “god files”)
- Added multi-language BIP39 seed phrase support
- Bug fixes for wallet crashes, endpoint switching, and sync handling
- UI/UX improvements across multiple screens
- Clipboard security (auto-clear for seed phrases)
Developer ecosystem expansion:
- New SDKs for Android & iOS
- React Native plugin (for wallets like Edge)
- CLI tools for advanced integrations
Privacy-first design:
- Option to disable all external API calls
- Ability to run your own light server
- Logging enabled only during testing (will be removed in final release)
Important testing notes:
- Use small amounts only
- Logging is enabled (not private — testing only)
- Save your seed phrase immediately
This wallet is being built up to be one of the most advanced privacy wallets in crypto — combining usability, performance, and uncompromising privacy.
Orchard Testnet Continues
Alongside the wallet, Orchard Testnet remains live and actively being tested. Community participation is key. With more testing, the faster we reach mainnet. Read additional information on the Pirate Chain Github for the Pirate Chain Orchard testnet (currently on version 6.0.0-beta3) and the ability for senders to give a single payment disclosure. There is also an orchard-testing channel in the Pirate Chain Discord for Orchard testing comments.
This upgrade is critical for:
- Removing legacy trusted setup concerns
- Improving scalability
- Unlocking compatibility with future zk-proof innovations
Pirate Chain Quarterly Report - Q1 2026
We released a post for the Pirate Chain Quarterly Report: Q1 2026. The quarterly report summarises Pirate Chain accomplishments from January through March. Progress summary areas include technology development, community initiatives, events and outreach, and outlook for Q2 2026. Specific topic areas highlighted include the Orchard protocol upgrade and unified light wallet development. Q1 2026 demonstrated Pirate Chain's commitment to advancing technology, community engagement, and real-world utility.
Pirate Chain Community Logos
Pirate Chain community logos are now available for community use. The logos are available in the Pirate Chain Discord in the Creative channel.

AnonBazaar Fundraising
The main fundraising focus continues to be getting Pirate Chain listed on AnonBazaar, a privacy-first marketplace where:
- No fees are charged to buyers or sellers
- No custody of funds is taken
- Privacy coins are the core payment method
Being listed on AnonBazaar would give Pirate Chain a real place to spend and earn ARRR in addition to enabling the selling of goods instead of just buying on exchanges. This makes it easier for sellers to reach more users and for buyers to transact without relying on centralized exchanges.
The Pirate Chain team will be matching community donations for AnonBazaar. Contributions can be made in ARRR, Monero, or Litecoin, and even small donations help signal demand and move the integration forward. Additional information is available on the Pirate Chain Community Crowdfunding page.
You can donate in ARRR, XMR, or LTC. View keys are posted for ARRR/XMR transparency.

Community X Spaces
Pirate Chain is expanding beyond Discord with monthly community X (Twitter) spaces. We had our first Pirate Chain Podcast session on 20 April to reach new audiences outside of Discord and Telegram. The space included an open Q&A with the team and has been a great way to grow visibility in the broader crypto space. More guest appearances and collaborations are planned.
In closing
April marks a turning point. Community-driven growth is accelerating, the wallet is now in end-user testing, Orchard is progressing toward mainnet, and infrastructure for real-world usage is expanding.
This is a community-driven project. You can contribute by testing the wallet and Orchard, donating to fundraisers, spreading awareness, building tools, content, or integrations. Everything helps!
We’ll be back with another update next month as things continue to accelerate.
