Hedera Technology Used in Project Acacia

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre (DFCRC) have officially launched Project Acacia, a new initiative focused on testing how digital money could work in real-world financial systems.

Hedera has been chosen to support a pilot issuance of wholesale central bank digital currency (CBDC). Hedera Council member Australian Payments Plus (AP+) is leading efforts to explore interoperability between networks — specifically, how digital currencies could move between the Hedera network and HashSphere.

This is an exciting milestone for the ecosystem and a strong signal of confidence in the Hedera network’s ability to support the future of regulated digital finance.

Verifiable Compute Takes a Big Step

EQTY Lab has launched its Verifiable Compute platform on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, in collaboration with NVIDIA, SCAN UK, Accenture Public Sector, and Hedera. This marks a major milestone in delivering scalable, sovereign AI with on-silicon governance.

Powered by the Hedera Consensus Service, Verifiable Compute creates an immutable, transparent record of AI computations. This integration sets a new standard for enterprise AI governance by combining hardware-based trust with the verifiability of the Hedera network. The result is a breakthrough framework for secure, policy-aligned AI systems that meet evolving compliance and security demands.

Aberdeen, Archax and Lloyds Complete UK-First Trade Using Tokenized Assets

Lloyds Banking Group, Aberdeen Investments, and Archax have completed a landmark UK-first initiative, settling tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) as collateral for institutional FX trading.
Tokenized units of Aberdeen’s money market fund and UK gilts were issued, transferred, and held by Archax, a UK FCA-regulated digital asset exchange, on Hedera. These assets were then used as collateral in FX trades between Lloyds and Aberdeen, demonstrating how regulated digital assets can operate within existing legal and financial frameworks.

Big Steps Made in Global Web3 Regulation

July was a landmark month for crypto policy. In the U.S., the House passed the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan bill establishing clear market rules for digital assets. Alongside the proposed GENIUS Act on stablecoins, it signals real momentum toward regulatory clarity and U.S. leadership in Web3.

We’re grateful to the builders, developers, and partners who laid the foundation, and to the Trump Administration for recognizing what’s possible when innovation and policy move together. Hello Future Hackathon–Chapter 1:Origins Begins!

The Hello Future Hackathon is back, bigger than ever, with a $550,000 prize pool and a global trilogy format: Origins, Ascension, and Apex.

From July 21 to August 8, builders will create AI agents, reimagine DeFi, and launch sustainability solutions using Hedera’s tech. Legacy Builders can return to build on past projects, and all teams can also submit to the Dev Experience track to improve the developer ecosystem.

Hedera To Earn (HTE) Platform Launches

Hedera Foundation announced that Hedera To Earn, a new cross-app rewards platform, has officially launched, bringing over 24 million users from major consumer platforms into the Hedera ecosystem. With partners like Cashtree, Mars Labs, and Berryfox live at launch, users can earn $HTE tokens across shopping, gaming, and digital experiences, all without needing prior Web3 knowledge.
