The PlayStation-published Stellar Blade announced its debut on PC on June 11. Steam later revealed that Stellar Blade has already welcomed a peak player count of 99,980, less than 24 hours since its release on PC.

According to Shift Up, all new content available in the PC version will also be released on PS5. The game developer also added that the update will be free for all PS5 players, saying that it aims to offer the best experience to all players.

Stellar Blade surpasses other games in peak player count

The game’s record numbers on PC mean it currently has the highest peak concurrent player count for a PlayStation-published single-player game on the platform. The action-adventure game has surpassed Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn, with peak player counts of 66,436 and 36,496, respectively. The Last of Us Part 1 also has a peak of 36,496, while its sequel – The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered – has a peak of 30,690.

Stellar Blade is sitting quite happily with a positive review average. Shift Up stated in a financial report back in February that it expects the PC version to exceed console sales.

“In the AAA game market, PC devices have a higher market share than consoles, so we expect the performance of the PC version to exceed that of the console version. We are particularly observing trends such as the significant expansion of the single-player action game market in the Asian gaming industry.”

In mid-May, the video game developer also revealed that Stellar Blade’s availability on Steam has been blocked in over 120 countries. Shift Up acknowledged that the PC version does not require a PSN account and appeared surprised in the feedback at the game’s unavailability.

Stellar Blade’s PC version comes with updates for players

Stellar Blade’s PC version supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 resolution scaling and frame generation, NVIDIA DLAA image enhancement, and NVIDIA Reflex latency reduction features. The game added that AMD is supported, and it also supports unlocking the frame rate.

The game revealed that its PC version supports ultrawide 21:9 and super ultrawide 32:9 resolutions, providing users with a wide range of aspect ratios. The gaming firm also acknowledged that high-resolution background textures are supported. Players must enable the 4K texture option in the PC settings to use the features.

In the PC version of the game, Stellar Blade said players can experience all of the action moments vividly with the DualSense controller, which fully supports haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features. The game also supports full user key customization for gamepads, keyboards, and mice.

Stellar Blade also revealed that players can collect a total of 25 new Nano Suits as additional rewards, which will provide even more options to highlight Eve’s beauty. The game also said it’s giving all users the new outfit Crimson Wing as a token of their gratitude as they celebrate the release of the PC version.

The game now supports Chinese and Japanese voiceovers in all regions. Stellar Blade will also apply matching facial animations for both languages.

The game’s technical director, DonKi Lee, mentioned that the update will benefit players who could not access the game due to platform restrictions.

The new PC game will include a new boss fight, where players can battle Mann, the leader of the Sentinels, in the Boss Challenge mode. Eve, the game’s main character, has 25 new costumes available for PS5 players.

Shift Up also shared system requirements for the game, where the game requires at least 16GB RAM and 75GB SSD space. The game’s minimum GPU requirement is a GTX 1060 or RX 580.
