XRP Whales Target $1.25 Pivot Before Crucial Senate Vote

In Brief:

  • XRP’s $1.25 support combines the weekly Bollinger midpoint and Fibonacci retracement, making it central to the current market price structure.
  • Binance reserves briefly reached 2.6245 billion XRP, while the longer trend shows roughly 500 million tokens leaving the exchange overall.
  • Senate consideration of the CLARITY Act adds regulatory uncertainty as whales evaluate potential accumulation opportunities near key identified support levels.

XRP’s $1.25 support level has become a major market pivot as whales assess potential buying opportunities before the Senate vote. The asset currently trades between $1.40 and $1.45, following an August rally from $1.00 to approximately $1.70.

However, the price has entered consolidation as traders evaluate whether the rally can support another substantial upward movement. TradingView indicators place $1.25 at the center of XRP’s present technical structure and its possible correction path.

This level combines the weekly middle Bollinger Band with the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement from the August price increase. Consequently, a movement toward $1.25 could represent a normal market cooldown instead of a breakdown in XRP’s recovery.

Buyers defending that level could preserve the broader bullish structure while creating another accumulation opportunity for major investors. However, sustained trading below $1.25 could weaken market confidence and expose XRP to lower support zones.

Large holders demonstrated considerable demand when XRP climbed from $1.00 and tested the $1.70 level during August. On-chain reports show wallets holding one million to 10 million XRP accumulated another 642 million tokens during that rally.

This activity suggests whales viewed the initial advance as an opportunity to establish positions before another possible expansion. Nevertheless, these holdings do not guarantee additional purchases because whale strategies can change alongside market conditions.

Binance Reserves and CLARITY Act Vote Increase XRP Volatility Risks

According to CryptoQuant data, XRP reserves on Binance reached 2.6245 billion tokens near the recent local price peak. Rising exchange reserves often indicate that investors transferred assets onto trading platforms for possible sales or profit-taking.

Therefore, increased Binance supply may explain some selling pressure around $1.45 as traders secured gains from the August recovery. Whales could use a resulting correction to place additional orders near $1.25, although available data cannot confirm their intentions.

Moreover, Binance’s longer reserve trend shows declining exchange supply despite the temporary increase around XRP’s local high. The platform held approximately 3.1 billion XRP last November, compared with roughly 2.6 billion tokens in recent records.

Around 500 million XRP left Binance during that period, reducing the token supply immediately available through the exchange. Significantly, declining reserves may reflect withdrawals into private wallets, institutional custody platforms, or accounts on other exchanges.

Regulatory developments could also influence XRP’s direction because the Senate has scheduled a CLARITY Act procedural vote for September 15. The vote requires 60 senators to support cloture before lawmakers can open formal debate on the proposed legislation.

Lawmakers designed the measure to classify digital assets and divide regulatory responsibilities between the SEC and CFTC. However, procedural approval would not complete the legislative process or guarantee eventual passage into federal law.

A successful vote could strengthen expectations for clearer cryptocurrency rules and potentially support wider institutional involvement across digital asset markets. Conversely, a failed vote or another delay could weaken speculative confidence and increase pressure around XRP’s nearby support levels.

XRP’s next major movement may therefore depend on whether buyers protect the current range or permit a deeper correction. The $1.25 level combines technical support, possible whale demand, declining Binance reserves, and regulatory uncertainty within one critical market zone.\
