Theta Roundup — March 2026

March delivered one of our busiest months to date, with a packed list of product updates, platform improvements, and continued progress on the TDROP 2.0 roadmap. From greater visibility in the market for our Theta EdgeCloud GPUS, to AI agent capabilities to engineering work that strengthens the edge network from the ground up, here’s everything that happened this month.

Theta Relaunched its Website

Over the past several years, we have made meaningful progress in refining and consolidating our positioning. This month, we built on that momentum with the relaunch of our website and a new tagline: “Where the world’s compute comes together.”

As demand for AI and GPU compute continues to expand, Theta is strongly positioned as part of the underlying infrastructure layer to support AI workloads. With a clearer foundation now in place, we are well positioned to continue developing our offering, with further updates to follow soon. Stay tuned.

TDROP Now Accepted as Payment on EdgeCloud

Theta EdgeCloud now accepts TDROP as a payment method for compute services across the platform. Developers, researchers, and enterprises can use TDROP to pay for GPU compute, AI model training and inference, API calls, and other EdgeCloud workloads — joining TFUEL and fiat as accepted payment options. This is part of the broader TDROP 2.0 initiative outlined in the 2026 roadmap, which is repositioning TDROP as a multi-utility token for the growing AI compute economy.

Dignitas Fans Can Now Earn TDROP Through AI-Powered Shopping

Dignitas became the latest esports organization to deepen its integration with the Theta ecosystem. Fans can now earn TDROP rewards whenever they purchase merchandise through the Dignitas website. Digi, the team’s Theta-built AI agent, connects directly to the merch store and handles the reward process automatically — users just connect their MetaMask wallet, shop as normal, and collect TDROP on qualifying purchases. This is one of the first live implementations of the AI Merch Agent functionality outlined in the 2026 roadmap.

AI Agents Now Support Rich Content Formats

Theta EdgeCloud AI agents can now respond with rich UI components — tables, buttons, and other structured formats — when the conversation calls for it. Rather than requiring partners to configure prompts or write custom instructions, the agent evaluates each conversation in real time and determines whether a structured response would be more useful than plain text. The update applies across all EdgeCloud AI agent deployments with no additional configuration required from partners.

Flux and Llama 3 Optimized for Community Edge Nodes

The Theta engineering team adapted several popular AI models — including Black Forest Labs’ Flux text-to-image model and Meta’s Llama 3 8B — to run on community edge nodes with significantly lower vRAM requirements. Using quantization and other memory-saving techniques, these models can now run on consumer GPUs like the RTX 3090 and 4090 that make up much of EdgeCloud’s 30,000+ node network. The team also made container images hardware-aware, so they automatically detect available GPU resources at startup and select suitable settings without manual configuration from node operators.

The result is more available capacity for inference tasks across the distributed network and greater TFUEL rewards for participating node operators.

Theta EdgeCloud Now Listed on GPUs.io

Theta EdgeCloud is now listed on GPUs.io, a comparison site that puts 15 cloud GPU providers side by side in a single table. Users can filter by GPU model, vRAM, and price to find the right fit for their AI workload. No more bouncing between dashboards to compare rates.

It’s never been easier to find Theta EdgeCloud GPUs, compare them to our competitors, and choose them for your workload.
