He was detained on August 24 at Paris's Le Bourget Airport upon exiting a private jet. French authorities allege that Durov was complicit in illegal activities conducted via his messaging app, including drug trafficking and fraud. Furthermore, he reportedly refused to cooperate with police regarding these matters. Vavilova accompanied Durov on the trip and was detained alongside him but was later released after questioning.
