Symbiotic, the Universal Staking protocol, today announced the launch of Symbiotic Relay, its network middleware SDK that enables any network to use stake across chains and verify consensus/quorum results in a trustless manner. By unlocking shared staking logic and coordination between ecosystems, Relay brings out-of-the-box connectivity and composability to all Symbiotic-integrated networks.
With Symbiotic Relay, developers can plug into Symbiotic and unlock something previously impossible: the ability to use stake from any ecosystem to verify protocol decisions on any supported chain. This opens the door for protocols to build bridges, settlement layers, oracles, and rollups without relying on multisigs or proof-of-authority setups, and without sacrificing decentralization. For the first time, stake alignment becomes possible between entirely different networks, tokens, and consensus layers, thereby enabling a new class of natively multichain apps secured by shared cryptoeconomics.
For users, this means seamless multichain dApps that can verify outcomes and process interactions across chains without any fragmentation or trust gaps. Retail users no longer need to worry about what chain their stake is on or whether bridging outcomes are secure. Relay makes composability cryptoeconomically verifiable.
“Until now, building secure multichain infrastructure meant expensive custom work or reliance on centralized relayers,” said Algys Ievlev, co-founder of Symbiotic. “Relay solves that. It makes verifiable, stake-backed coordination between chains as simple as a plug-in without any trust assumptions or permissioning, enabling secure outcomes across ecosystems.”
Symbiotic Relay enables the strengths of crypto’s largest ecosystems to be unified into one seamless coordination layer. Bitcoin brings unmatched trust and a $2.2T market cap. Ethereum anchors $62B+ in DeFi and thousands of programmable assets. Solana delivers 10,000+ TPS and serves 100M+ users monthly. These chains were once siloed. With Relay, builders can now tap into Bitcoin’s trust, Ethereum’s expressiveness, and Solana’s performance, all while using staked capital as a shared source of verifiable security. For users, it means the full functionality of crypto’s most powerful networks becomes accessible in one unified experience, secured by Symbiotic’s shared cryptoeconomic layer.
Relay was a core development focus behind Symbiotic’s $29M Series A, led by Pantera Capital with participation from Coinbase Ventures and over 100 angels from leading teams including Aave, Ether.fi, Polygon, StarkWare and more. Its launch marks a turning point for universal staking as a foundation for the next wave of modular, cross-chain infrastructure. According to Electric Capital’s 2024 Developer Report, 34% of monthly active developers now work across multiple blockchains, up from 10% in 2015, making multichain composability no longer optional.
Symbiotic Relay is already being explored by teams building fast-finality rollups, oracles, generalized bridges, and decentralized insurance layers who want to settle outcomes across multiple chains without compromising on speed or security. These are use cases that previously required siloed deployments or bespoke systems and are now possible out of the box.
Symbiotic went live on mainnet earlier this year and has already secured over $1B across 14 networks. Relay now unlocks access for dozens more chains and modular systems, positioning Symbiotic as the cryptoeconomic coordination layer for an open, interconnected blockchain world.

About Symbiotic
Symbiotic is a universal staking protocol that provides a modular coordination framework for the blockchain ecosystem. It enables protocols to evolve their security models over time and unlock entirely new economic primitives. Backed by Paradigm, Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures, cyberFund, and over 100 angel investors, Symbiotic launched 14 production decentralized networks, and the list keeps expanding with additional networks in various stages of integration.
