Despite recent dramas over not showcasing Claire Silver’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the Louvre’s walls were finally graced by digital assets for the first time — showcasing several Bored Ape Yacht Clubs (BAYCs) and Mutant Ape Yacht Clubs (MAYCs).

Quick Takes:

  • Just days ago, the Louvre museum showcased an exhibit of Yuga Labs’ BAYCs and MAYCs.
  • The display marks a creative way to recognize the impact of NFTs regarding Web3 culture and digital art.
  • Eight BAYCs and two MAYCs were displayed by notable project members — Snoop Dogg and Adidas’ Indigo Herz.
  • This exhibition is a powerful testament to history, highlighting the growing impact of digital art and Web3 culture.

Louvre Showcases Bored Apes, Marks History

Two hundred and thirty years have passed since the world’s most renowned museum, Louvre, opened its doors for the first time. Now, in the present day, this same institution unveils and exhibits new pieces of art to intrigue and gain excitement among visitors.

The Louvre’s ongoing relevance as a hub of artistic innovation and discovery continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Consequently, a collection of BAYC and MAYC took center stage as the museum’s most recent masterpieces.

BAYC and MAYC fans have been taking to Twitter to rant about this unique art event:

As a result, visitors have been flocking to the Louvre to see Yuga Labs’ NFTs close and personal — marveling at the apes’ vivid colors and intricate details, bringing the virtual creators to life.

Nevertheless, the display is more of a testament than viewing unique digital art up-close. Rather, the museum showcases artworks from a project with a unique culture. One which has a distinctive branding and a sense of exclusivity. Some pieces sell for millions of dollars as a result.

Another perk of these digital assets includes having involvement in philanthropic efforts, such as raising funds for charity and supporting various causes. This makes the tokens all the more desirable, therefore, popular (and expensive).

Consequently, this exhibition is a powerful testament to history. The event highlights the growing impact of digital art in Web3 culture. It also recognizes on-chain art as a legitimate form of art for the first time, bringing NFTs to higher heights.
