Tezos (XTZ) is now one of the cryptocurrencies available for sale as prepaid cards in retail shops, offered by the cryptocurrency startup Digycode. Digycode is a branch of the Toulouse Digital Service group comprising of digital cryptocurrency trading services Zebitex and ZeBitcoin.
That is, customers in France now have the opportunity to purchase Tezos (XTZ) as prepaid cards in thousands of tobacco shops across the country. The research and development team of Nomadic Lab is a contributor to the Tezos core software. The addition of Tezos was possible due to a partnership between Digycode and the team.
In the words of the startup’s spokesperson, Tezos project is among the most promising at the moment, and the startup has been monitoring it for several months. The integration of Tezos into their services is part of a broader strategy committed to the protocol with such a French accent, said the spokesperson.
Before now, Digycode provided prepaid vouchers for BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC and Dash. Registration on the startup’s website is required to start getting cryptocurrencies this way. After registration, users need to enter the vouchers they purchased and receive cryptocurrencies in their digital wallet based on the current exchange rates.
This does not require any form of a bank account but users need to undertake a know-your-customer (KYC) procedure before receiving their coins. Likewise, the maximum sum redeemable every day and every month is €1,000 and €10,000, respectively. Digycode can close suspicious accounts if there is any reason to believe that any user is using its service for illicit purposes, and if any user is unable to provide supporting documents, as stated in its FAQ section.
Digycode noted that people can buy its prepaid crypto vouchers in more than 10,000 tobacconist’s kiosks and other shops.
French startup Keplerk is also offering cryptocurrency coupons redeemable for BTC in convenience stores across France.
