After patiently waiting for a while now, the Realm community has something to celebrate after the highly anticipated Realm Allocation Mining Event finally launched on July 26th, offering them the first opportunity to own $REALM tokens. By participating in the event, you have a chance to be part of the future of digital art that is just getting started.
The NFT Market Place is Booming in 2021
The NFT marketplace has exploded in 2021, with first-quarter sales amounting to over $2.5 billion. This is a 900% growth compared to what was made in 2020 selling various NFTs. The market growth has been accelerated by the ease to tokenize various achievements, art, music, and so on in the form of unique digital tokens allowing the likes of blue-chip artists, digital artists, athletes, music producers, and stars from every creative field to mint non fungible tokens quickly.
The AME event is happening on Lauchpool, a fund-raising protocol that Realm opted to go with since they have a shared philosophy. Both platforms believe in fair access for everyone, and Realm’s community-driven NFT project lives by this principle. On the other hand, Launchpool tries to lower the barrier for entry, encouraging investors of all sizes to get access to various projects early at the same deal terms that large venture funds get.
Allocation Mining Event Timeline
According to a press release seen yesterday, the event began on July 26th with deposits. Then on the 27th, allocation mining opened. The AME will run until August 2nd at 13:00 GMT. The payment window will close August 4th, and the total allocation size for the Launchpool community is $400,000. The AME Launchpool price token is $0.03, with the initial market cap being $424,663. As for the vesting period, 12.5% of the tokens will be unlocked during the token generation event and the remaining ones via daily vesting for the next 18 months.
The event comes just a few weeks after Realm partnered with KidEight, a renegade 3D artist, to build the world’s first fully interactive NFT artwork in the metaverse named EVOL Slidin. The development was just a tiny taste of what is possible with Realm’s community-driven metaverse.
Realm serves as a cross-chain metaverse for NFTs that allows artists, designers, and developers to build their own personal metaverses, curate NFT exhibitions and events, and trade NFTs. The platform is working on changing how NFTs are experienced, thereby empowering digital artists using the medium to create new work.
The platform’s NFT metaverse combines customizable open-source metaverses that are community-created. Doing this allows media creators from all fields the space to interact and inspire each other to create new realms that can be minted as ERC-1155 tokens.
The Collaboration Offered a Glimpse of What is Possible
According to the platform, the recent collaboration with KidEight was able to showcase “the power of the metaverse and provided a glimpse of the immersive journey within Realm’s mixed-reality NFT platform. It showed how the combination of virtual reality, augmented reality, and Realm’s innovative technological architecture can augment the creative processes of artists, musicians, and game developers and produce never-felt-before experiences for collectors and gamers. This makes Realm one of the most creative and imaginative environments ever conceived.”
Back in May, Realm was able to raise $2.25 million in a funding round led by Alphabit. Other notable participants included Genesis Block Ventures, NGC, SL2, LD Capital, and Moonrock. The funds were to be used to grow the team and accelerate the development of simple creator tools plus build a wide range of smart objects that artists can use to express themselves in virtual spaces.
