The Neon Codes

The Ulam Standard Code for Information Interchange is an experimental way to communicate. Using the magical properties of prime numbers, we hope to bring a new age of conversation to the universe. This piece combines the mathematical phenomenon of the Ulam Spiral, ASCII and generative art. The foundation of each piece is a spiral in which prime numbers are highlighted. The value of these prime numbers is replaced by the hash used to make the art. The hash also influences the art and can make it behave in chaotic ways. This can affect the colour palette, the position of the spiral, the modulo factor of the spiral and shape of the piece to name a few examples.
