Etherium -> Yahoo!

Solana -> Excite

Algorand -> Alta Vista

Cardano -> Lycos

Avalanche -> Infoseek

Binance -> HotBot

Polkadot -> Ask Jeeves

I remember those daze like yesterday. A silly exercise for sure, but useful to remember how much and how fast the technology landscape can and will change.

Stating the obvious, in 1997 Google did not exist. Neither did Bing, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Netflix, TikTok, Twitch... or Reddit.

Amazon's IPO price in 1997 was $18. Adjusted for inflation that's about $32 in today's dollars. Amazon Stock has split 4 times (and is about to split again any minute).

Doing spitball math: adjusting for stock splits and today's down market, one share of Amazon IPO $18 would be worth around $28,000 today.

If you invested $1000 in Amazon IPO it would be worth around $1.5M today. Amazon shares are about to split again at 20-for-1.

Just sayin'... we're early. We're really early.
