Corporate bitcoin buying accelerated this week, with two established treasury players, Strive and Strategy, adding fresh coins.

Bitcoin treasury company Strive acquired 1,355 BTC for approximately $107.7 million over the past week. Business intelligence firm Strategy also spent $75.7 million to purchase 950 BTC. Together, the acquisitions put nearly $200 million into bitcoin.

The news coincides with BTC’s ongoing price surge above $85,000.

Strive Crosses 25K BTC With Latest $107.7M Buy

Strive CEO Matt Cole announced the company’s big buy today. The announcement revealed that the firm paid an average of $79,475 per coin during its latest acquisition this week. The purchase lifted its treasury to 26,355 BTC, just days after the company reached the 25,000 BTC milestone through another acquisition.

Between September 8 and September 11, Strive bought 469 BTC for approximately $36.6 million at an average of $77,954 per coin. That purchase moved its holdings from 24,531 BTC to exactly 25,000 BTC, creating a clear milestone for the company’s expanding treasury.

Cole said the earlier transaction was funded entirely through SATA, Strive’s perpetual preferred stock, whose notional value exceeded $1 billion.

The latest purchase therefore represents a significant step up from the 469 BTC added during Strive’s previous buying round. Strive now holds 26,355 BTC, giving the company a substantially larger Bitcoin position than it had only weeks ago.

Strategy Makes Modest $75.7M BTC Purchase

Michael Saylor, Strategy’s Executive Chairman, disclosed that the company purchased  950 BTC for $75.7 million between September 14 and September 20. According to Saylor, the company paid an average of $79,670 per coin, bringing its total holdings to 846,000 BTC as of September 20.

The purchase followed Strategy’s much larger acquisition of 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million between August 24 and August 30. That earlier purchase, its first since June, lifted holdings to 845,050 BTC and followed a ten-week pause in bitcoin acquisitions.

Although the latest transaction was considerably smaller, it still increased the company’s bitcoin holdings after another week of corporate activity. Meanwhile, as of this writing, bitcoin has climbed to $86,000, up 5.7% over 24 hours according to CoinGecko market data.
