XRP Jumps 15% After Garlinghouse Joins Trump’s Summit

XRP climbed nearly 15% to about $1.21 after Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse attended a White House crypto summit hosted by President Donald Trump. The token broke above a key resistance area near $1.081 following weeks of trading around the $1 level.

The rally came as Trump publicly acknowledged Garlinghouse during the meeting, which also included senior financial regulators, administration officials, and executives from major crypto and market-infrastructure firms.

The sharp move pushed XRP into technically overbought territory on shorter-term charts.

Garlinghouse attended alongside SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. The gathering also marked the launch of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee, a 35-member group expected to help shape U.S. digital-asset policy.

Ripple’s presence carries symbolic weight for XRP investors after years in which the company’s legal battle with the SEC dominated the token’s narrative. The appearance itself does not change XRP’s legal status or create new rules, but it places Ripple among the companies actively participating in high-level discussions about future market oversight.

Community reaction was strongly positive, though some observers noted that political visibility does not automatically translate into concrete regulatory benefits for token holders.

Attention is now turning to a procedural Senate vote on the CLARITY Act scheduled for September 15. The bill has faced ongoing disputes over stablecoin yields, ethics provisions, and anti-money-laundering requirements, and it will need 60 votes to advance.

Trump urged Congress to pass what he called a fair version of the legislation, while industry participants at the summit stressed the need for a workable regulatory framework. The administration has also indicated that the SEC and CFTC could continue coordinating on crypto policy even if Congress moves slowly.

For market participants, the near-term technical picture is less straightforward than the headline rally suggests. XRP’s four-hour Stochastic Relative Strength Index (StochRSI) reached a level of 92 to 95 - an extreme reading that often accompanies powerful breakouts but also leaves the market vulnerable to a pullback.

Analysts are watching $1.01 as a potential support-retest zone, with $1.110 marked as the next nearby resistance following this triple-bottom price breakout.

Indeed, The White House appearance has given XRP a clear short-term catalyst. Presently, the longer-term question remains whether U.S. policymakers can convert high-level engagement into clear rules that institutions can actually rely on.
