Ondo Announces USDY Update Affecting Four Networks

Ondo Finance News confirms a major update to the USDY stablecoin today. The project will stop minting USDY on Aptos and Noble starting September 8, 2026. The update comes from an official post on the project's verified X account.

The change also touches the token on Osmosis and Mantra. Both of these chains receive their supply through a bridge from Noble using IBC, short for Inter-Blockchain Communication.

So any shift on the Noble side carries over to the two additional chains as well. The platform says the stablecoin stays fully backed through the transition, and every affected holder gets a way to migrate or exit their position in full.

USDY Minting Stops on Aptos and Noble

Ondo Finance News puts USDY at the center of the story as the token's minting footprint narrows rather than disappears. Minting on Aptos and Noble ends effective September 8, 2026, marking the start of a 90-day transition period for anyone still holding a balance there.

The backing behind existing tokens does not change during this stretch. Instead, the platform is narrowing where fresh supply gets created while keeping redemption paths open for current holders.

Why Existing Holders on Four Networks Are Affected

Aptos, Noble, Osmosis, and Mantra all connect to this single update, even though only two of them lose minting directly. Osmosis and Mantra do not issue the token natively in the first place.

Their supply moves in through IBC bridging from the Noble side, so a change there reaches both connected chains automatically. Ondo Finance News notes that holders on Osmosis and Mantra can send their balance back to the origin chain first, then follow whichever exit path fits their holding size from there.

Exit and Redemption Options by Holding Size

The available path depends on how much of the token a holder carries. Ondo Finance News lays out two separate tracks based on a 1,000-unit threshold.

Holding Size

Available Option

Deadline

1,000 USDY or more

Bridge to another supported network, or redeem directly with the issuer at NAV (net asset value).

September 8, 2027

Less than 1,000 USDY

Exit through third-party open-market liquidity

December 7, 2026

Aptos holders below the threshold can currently use liquidity through Hyperion, and users on the origin chain can turn to Osmosis for the same purpose. These routes depend on market conditions and rest with the third parties running the pools, not with the project directly, so availability may shift over time.

ONDO Price and Market Snapshot Today

Ondo Finance News on the token side shows a mixed short-term picture even as the update draws attention across the sector.

The native governance token, ONDO, trades near $0.3793 at the time of writing, down 0.63 percent over 24 hours, based on CoinMarketCap data.

Trading volume sits at $154.2 million, up 21.52 percent in the same period, while total value locked across the platform stands at $3.51 billion. Market capitalization is close to $1.84 billion.

Conclusion

USDY is not going away. Ondo Finance News confirms the project is simply changing where the token can be minted, giving Aptos and Noble holders clear, time-bound options to move their balance or redeem it directly.

The project remains focused on expanding USDY's use across supported networks and building on it with users, developers, and institutions going forward.

Holders should verify official contract addresses before bridging or redeeming, since the project will never reach out first to ask for private keys or seed phrases. Any transfer should start from the addresses the project has already confirmed in its own channels.

Ondo Finance News will likely stay part of the conversation as more holders complete their migration ahead of the December 2026 and September 2027 deadlines.
