FIFA+ Collect launches digital collectibles following collaboration with Modex

FIFA+ Collect is launching a new dual digital collectible in collaboration with tech company Modex for the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023. This first collection drop, scheduled for December 15, will include 100 exclusive digital collectibles available on FIFA Collect+, offering fans the rare opportunity to secure tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final™.

Additionally, 900 other digital collectibles will be released on the Polygon network and made available on OpenSea, starting December 19. These collectibles will feature memorable moments from the FIFA Club World Cup, along with digital versions of tournament memorabilia.

The FIFA Club World Cup, commencing December 12 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will see top football teams like Manchester City, Fluminense, and Auckland City, among others, compete for the prestigious title.

Romy Gai, FIFA’s Chief Business Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Modex, highlighting the global popularity of the FIFA+ Collect platform. Gai emphasized that the new collectibles will offer fans a unique way to connect with the sport and contribute to the growing digital collectibles market.

Boosting fan engagement

Modex CEO Francesco Abbate shared his excitement about delivering FIFA’s digital collectibles, noting the added fan engagement with the opportunity to secure actual FIFA match items and World Cup Final access. Abbate underscored the significance of digital collectibles in enhancing fan interaction with the sport.

This collaboration between Modex and FIFA is a testament to the potential of web3 technology in enhancing fan engagement and expanding participation opportunities in sports.
