Business intelligence firm Strategy has come under the crypto community’s radar amid concerns about a potential BTC sale. According to Arkham data, the company recently transferred 3,567.507 BTC, worth about $297 million, from wallets associated with its treasury.
The BTC transfer occurred just hours after the firm announced the purchase of 1,665 BTC.
While blockchain data does not show the exact reason for this movement, the scale and timing of the transfer have drawn renewed attention to Strategy’s Bitcoin management.
Strategy Moves $297M in BTC
Arkham’s data shows that Strategy moved the million-dollar BTC stash in 12 transactions within nine hours. The entire stash was moved to different addresses labelled “Fidelity Custody” as seen in the image below. For context, Fidelity Custody is the crypto custodial arm of the American firm, Fidelity Investments.
Various institutional clients use Fidelity Custody as a third-party custodian for their crypto holdings. Hence, Strategy’s move can be perceived as a routine internal movement and not a sale.

Regardless of the purpose for the move, such a significant transfer naturally draws attention. This is particularly because Strategy has established its corporate identity around accumulating and holding BTC for several years.
Moreover, blockchain data alone cannot determine the ultimate destination and purpose of the fund transfer.
Strategy’s BTC Story
On the bright side, Strategy’s latest purchase continues a trend of significant BTC acquisitions, which have consistently expanded its corporate treasury throughout 2026. According to its official Bitcoin ledger, the company acquired 950 BTC on September 21 and 4,603 BTC during August this year.
The ledger also notes previous reductions, including the sale of 1,638 BTC on August 3, and a total reduction of 1,690 BTC.
These entries indicate that Strategy’s treasury has not simply followed a straightforward accumulation pattern throughout the year. Instead, the company’s purchases, sales, financing decisions, and wallet movements have increasingly become interconnected pieces of its corporate capital strategy.
Notably, Michael Saylor, the company’s founder and executive chairman, revealed during the recent Q1 2026 earnings call that Strategy might sell its BTC holdings or even Bitcoin derivatives to pay dividends. In light of this information, the latest transfer of 3,568 BTC adds another layer to the treasury story that investors are closely monitoring today.
