ETH Is Approaching a Critical Breakout: Popular Analyst Reveals the Level That Matters

ETH is approaching a critical breakout. Despite the volatility of the past few days, price remains contained within its current trading channel. Analyst Ali Martinez says one level now decides where it goes next.
What Martinez Is Watching
He shared the setup on X, pointing to $2,570 as the level that matters. Price has reached the lower boundary of its channel.

Martinez is watching for a rebound toward the mid-range and eventually the upper boundary near $2,570.
A strong close above that level, backed by volume, could confirm a breakout. That would open the door to $2,700 and potentially $3,000.
A Familiar Setup From Martinez’s Own Track Record
This isn’t the first time a Martinez-flagged level has preceded a real move.
Ethereum cleared a stubborn $4,500 resistance level earlier this year after Martinez highlighted the same zone, which opened the door to a run toward $5,000.
That breakout came with volume behind it, the same condition Martinez says matters most for the current $2,570 level.
Price Sits Right in the Range Martinez Described
ETH traded at $2,462.57 as of 12:54 UTC on September 17, 2026, up 1.9% over seven days, per CoinGecko.
The chart shows a sharp spike above $2,600 on September 12, followed by a steep drop toward $2,400 by September 16.
Price has since recovered slightly, sitting well below the $2,570 level Martinez is watching.

That gap between current price and the breakout trigger leaves room for the rebound he’s describing to actually play out.
Ethereum Has Struggled With Levels Like This Before
Round, well-watched levels haven’t always given way easily this year. Ethereum repeatedly failed to hold above $3,000 earlier in 2026, needing a confirmed daily close above the level before any sustained move followed.
That history is a reminder that a single strong candle often isn’t enough. Confirmation tends to matter as much as the initial break.
What Happens From Here
Ethereum’s next move likely hinges on whether buyers can push price back to $2,570 and hold it there with real volume.
Given the setup Martinez describes, a clean reclaim of that level looks like the clearest signal for whether ETH pushes toward $2,700 and $3,000 or stays capped in its current range.
