In response, Justin Sun confirmed that Tron has already started implementing measures designed to counter quantum computing threats. According to Sun, the network has launched a post-quantum upgrade plan aimed at strengthening its long-term security framework.
According to Sun, Tron is deploying post-quantum signature schemes based on standards developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He explained that this move places Tron ahead of networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are still assessing their strategies. Moreover, he stressed that quantum resistance should not remain a theoretical discussion but should become part of active network design.
This development follows new findings published by Google Quantum AI, which intensified debate across the crypto sector. The research explored how advances in Shor’s algorithm could eventually weaken existing cryptographic systems. Consequently, the possibility of exposing private keys has drawn increased attention from developers and analysts.

While some participants reacted with concern, others emphasized that the risks remain manageable. Changpeng Zhao of Binance noted that blockchains can adapt by upgrading their cryptographic standards. According to Zhao, the industry has sufficient time to implement quantum-resistant solutions without immediate disruption.
At the same time, Justin Drake urged a careful interpretation of the research. He pointed out that timelines for quantum breakthroughs remain uncertain and depend on continued technological progress. Additionally, he estimated that the likelihood of practical attacks emerging by the early 2030s remains limited but still meaningful.
Sun, however, maintained that early action reduces long-term risk. According to him, Tron will release a detailed roadmap outlining how the upgrade will integrate into its mainnet operations. Furthermore, he highlighted that user asset protection remains a central objective as the network evolves.
Tron’s push toward quantum resilience reflects its growing role within the digital asset ecosystem. Data shows that over $80 billion in stablecoins, primarily USDT, operate on the network. Besides that, its total value locked stands near $5 billion, underlining its importance in decentralized finance activity.
Consequently, Tron’s approach could influence how other networks prioritize security upgrades.
