Cardano's 60% Hike In Activity Mirrors Gathering Demand

Cardano (ADA) recently added a crucial software kit, designed to make AI-agentic payments seamless on the Layer-1 network. Originally coded by Coinbase’s developers, the x402 allows the on-chain robots to pay in Cardano’s native ADA token across the ecosystem-compatible decentralized applications (dApps).

The new Coinbase-issued software kit brings new opportunities for Cardano developers, and that’s starting to reflect on the network’s activity metrics. Network addresses active on Cardano have struck a roughly 60% increase in a day, going from 14K active ADA addresses to beyond 22K, according to DefiLlama’s stats.

Cardano’s pivot to artificial intelligence (AI) based agentic payments comes along with a crucial vote to improve the chain’s structure. If that one gets approved by the broader Cardano community, the OpenZeppelin open-source software stack may bridge the gap between Cardano’s capabilities and demand.

Traders are also assessing whether this will reflect on Cardano’s (ADA) price. Right now, ADA has been mirroring Bitcoin’s (BTC) run to $85,000. Similarly to BTC, Cardano (ADA) flipped a few fundamental moving-average based thresholds, now arriving at the $0.24 support cluster. Cardano’s daily trades garnered $807,231,911 on Spot markets.

That’s a perfect match for the rising developer activity: when the devs smell a potential rise in demand, they flock to software building toolkits and hammer away to provide the next big thing. The transaction count has also climbed notably: yesterday’s 33,919 transfers set a new monthly peak, while the overall total value locked (TVL) jumped by 4.95%.

The Derivatives markets haven’t been quiet as well: leveraged traders generated beyond $938 million in trading volume, a similar figure to the Spot market one. Traders also upped the Open Interest (OI) rate by 4.11%, now with more than $606 million in unsettled leveraged bets on ADA price. Bears got liquidated for $2.49M out of a $3.28M daily total.
