Raydium’s RAY token is experiencing a strong week, drawing attention to Solana’s trading ecosystem. Several key factors are contributing to this surge, with StonkFun debuting on Raydium LaunchLab.
Additionally, a record buyback and the introduction of tokenized assets, such as Backpack’s Grindr stock trading on Raydium, are strengthening the narrative surrounding RAY.
RAY Climbs 96.5% Following StonkFun Integration into LaunchLab
RAY surged 96.5% over the past week, reaching a price of $1.65, the highest it has been since January, according to CoinGecko data. The surge further accelerated after StonkFun announced that it would integrate its token launchpad into Raydium’s LaunchLab, raising expectations for increased trading activity.
This partnership allows Raydium to directly access new token launches, boosting the platform’s liquidity and transaction volume. For project developers, LaunchLab connects them to Raydium’s trading system. RAY holders likewise benefit from more usage of the protocol.
Per CoinGecko data, RAY’s price is currently $1.64, marking a gain of over 20% in the last 24 hours. RAY’s market capitalization is at around $425.8 million, with about $223.8 million in trading volume over the last 24 hours across various exchanges.
This activity shows that the price increase is backed by strong market participation, not just a minor shift in liquidity.
Record Buyback and Tokenized Assets Strengthens Raydium’s Role
Raydium’s momentum is also reinforced by a record $640,788 RAY buyback executed on September 9. The purchase was funded through its fee mechanism, which directs 12% of trading fees toward buying RAY for the protocol.
Raydium clarified that this 12% applies to the trading fees themselves, rather than representing 12% of each transaction’s total value. The buyback adds another source of potential future buy pressure as Raydium’s usage expands across multiple products on Solana.
Additionally, tokenized assets, including Grindr stock from Backpack, are being traded on Raydium, broadening its reach beyond traditional crypto markets. This activity positions Raydium closer to emerging on-chain financial markets, effectively bridging digital assets with representations of real-world securities.
Overall, these developments strengthen Raydium’s position as a core decentralized exchange (DEX) on Solana by boosting token launches, increasing buying pressure, and supporting innovative assets.
