Just a reminder that Litecoin's L2, LitVM, launches testnet tomorrow. Means EVM-compatible smart contracts, DeFi, yield etc. with LTC.
- The news: https://x.com/LitecoinVM/status/2044098628327973232
- The docs: https://builders.litvm.com
I heard ~130 teams have signed up already, curious to see the outcome...
AFAIK LitVM's most distinctive feature is its trustless, non-custodial bridging of native LTC into the LitVM's zkLTC rollup (a 1:1 representation backed by LTC locked on the Litecoin blockchain) using BitcoinOS's Grail bridge. Withdrawals will burn zkLTC and release LTC back on Litecoin.
LitVM/BitcoinOS describe this as a "1-of-n" model (1 honest verifier can prevent abuse), rather than an "m-of-n multisig custodian" model.
LitVM also has decentralized transaction ordering via Espresso, and an L1 forced-inclusion path if sequencing fails or censors transactions.
Overall this architecture reduces common risks that plague other L2s - especially multisig-custodied bridge risk and sequencer censorship.
See the FAQ at https://docs.litvm.com/other-resources/faq.
