Ethereum’s Q3 rally is one of the strongest in the asset’s history. Coinglass data puts ETH’s Q3 gain at 60.62% through September 13.

That’s the second-best Q3 on record. Only 2025 was stronger, when Ethereum closed Q3 up 66.55%.

A Quarter That Almost Wrote a New Record

The comeback stands out because of how the year started. Ethereum fell 29.26% in Q1. It fell another 25.28% in Q2.

That’s according to Coinglass’s quarterly returns data for ETH. Q3 erased both losses.

Most of the gain came in July and August. Momentum cooled in September.

Price Action Tells Its Own Story

ETH traded at $2,502.06 as of 16:31 UTC on September 13, 2026. That’s up 0.7% over seven days, per CoinGecko.

The chart shows a sharp spike toward $2,600 on September 12. Sellers then pushed the price back down.

ETH has traded between $2,450 and $2,500 since. That zone has acted as resistance for weeks.

Accumulation Behind the Rally

Price action isn’t the only story here. Spot Ether ETFs have swung between inflows and outflows through September. Farside Investors’ daily flow tracker shows demand returning in strong bursts.

Those bursts have offset earlier redemptions. This pattern echoes something Techgaged tracked earlier this year.

An OTC whale wallet bought tens of millions of dollars in ETH during a market downturn. The whale treated weakness as an entry point, not a warning sign.

Techgaged also flagged a separate trend in March. Balances in Ethereum accumulation addresses rose sharply that month. That pointed to growing conviction among large holders.

What Happens From Here

Ethereum sits close to where it started the year. But the path back has been steep for one quarter. Resistance still caps the $2,550 level. Q3 is nearly done.

The next few sessions will likely decide the outcome. ETH could hold these gains into Q4. Or traders could lock in profits and pull the price back.
